Hi All, just a quick update on the things we have been doing out here on the east coast. I am working with The Newark Women Build - and the collaboration is going well. The ladies (and the men lurking around from Habitat) are loving the tools. It's going to be a great experience and a wonderful fundraiser. I just did a Tools 101 Class.. While we had torrential down pour but it went well and I have over $300.00 in sales. I am splitting my commission with the fundraising event... so it works out for us all.
Kathy S. Tomboy of Long Island & I did an event for Nassau County Girl Scout Leaders Oktoberfest Retreat. It went wonderful... as Kathy put it.. "over 200 women introduced to Tomboy Tools!" It was truly amazing! We even got the chance to hook up with Leslie Segrete again.. We had a blast. The women Loved Tomboy Tools. It was truly overwhelming! It felt good as they chanted "Tomboy, Tomboy" as we left the event. I am already to go back again next year!
Elaine H. Tomboy of Philly & I teamed up to do a Susan G Komen shopping event Girls Gone Shopping in Philly. The event was well put together & well attended. Sales were soft, but we did meet some great people, got some great ideas and a few contacts... If nothing else, we got great exposure. I even had a woman tell me she saw a truck with the logo.. when she realized that she saw me in my minivan before the event. Good news, I didn't cut "HER" off! (I sometimes I drive like Annie Hall).
All in all good things. I am excited about the exposure these events will bring. Pink Hammer sales have been a bit soft, but other sales are picking up. My Tomboy team, The Tri-State Toolers still have a few more events this year... Including welcoming Tomboy Tools corporate on Nov 12th in Bethlehem, PA. A Tomboy in Every Town . So the best is still yet to come! Contact me if you want to attend this event!
I mentioned before that I am published. My 1000 word article was posted in an October issue of the Parent Guide News Magazine. Thank you Pamela S. Eaton-Ford for the photo... You did get proper credit. Although my web address in the story was printed wrong, someone googled me to find me. Hopefully the other potential customers will do the same. Parent Guide is going to print a small blurb in the WOMOM section of the paper about Tomboy Tools in the December 2006 issue. So hopefully that will foster gift-giving sales. That's all I will type for now.. although so much more to tell. Be well, do well! NJT

PINK PARTY IS CANCELLED
I decided to cancel the Pink Party. I went to a fabulous event Sunday as a vendor and loved the way it was fashioned. These women from Addae Marketing, LLC http://www.addaeonline.com/ really know how to throw a party. I think I need to put a little more effort into my Pink Party... so I've decided to push it out a little to give it the attention it deserves.. keep looking back for more updates.. thank you! NJT

I've Been Published!
I am SO excited. I have a 1000 word article written by me about my Tomboy Tools experience. This is great.... unfortunately the website address was posted wrong :( Oh well such as life.
Anyway if you want to see it and you are in the NJ Area.. pick up a copy of the October 2006 Parent Guide News Magazine - I am on page 23. Email me your address and I will send you a photo copy. Meanwhile, I will figure out a way to scan it into a PDF file. Thanks for reading....

BC Awareness Craft Challenge
Back in September, I decided to host A Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge. For some reason, this has been a passion for me. Thank God, I do not suffer from the disease, nor does any immediate family members. But I feel a strong need to raise awareness. So I promoted this craft challenge to create a work (all creative mediums accepted) and post to the board.
Well the response has been slow but powerful. I have received numerous emails from survivors & their friends/family members championing this event. Like I, they all thought it was a grand idea. The suggestion has been that all items be gifted to a survivor or donated to an organization or auction for the cause.
Here are the 7 entries we received:
http://tinyurl.com/nfn24
Here are the poll results:
http://tinyurl.com/fdfrp
Shannon/Paintitprim won with 28% of the votes. She will receive a "Pink for a Purpose" Hammer Out Breast Cancer hammer as a gift. These lovely two tree ornaments were carved out of wood and designed by the artist. Please see above pix.
Although this event was treated as a challenge, and there were votes.. we know that everyone is a winner. The main reason was the Awareness! Early detection is Key! Each entry will receive a wonderful hand stitch card magnet compliments of Granny3641. Thanks Jean! Hopefully next year I can have my own website to host the challenge! Whoo-Hoo!!!

What's in a name?
As the NJ/NY/PA team grew it became increasing clear that we needed a name. So last Tuesday we finally decided: Tri-State Toolers. Tagline: We are Independent Consultants for NJ/NY/PA and beyond...
Well the tagline might be a bit wordy but we are making the final decisions now!!!
BTW - Check out the website when you get a chance www.tomboytools.com web id# 70223

Unplanned Curb-side Shopping
Ran out to Michaels to get this nifty little tool called the Crop-a-dile Its a great tool that allows you to punch different sized holes in a variety of materials. It also allows you to set eyelets without even breaking a sweat.
On my way home I discovers a lot of great items on the street. Upon further investigation - I found out it was Bulk Junk day in Fanwood ,NJ. Tons really great items just sitting on the curb. A resident told me that most people put their stuff out days before pick-up day as they want the good stuff to find a home! How about that? Recycling or shall I say Freecycling at it's best.
So I found a few good things I could use in my Tomboy Tools
demonstrations!
Have a great day! Get out there and "do" something good!

It's here - It's really here!
Well folks I spoke too soon. Just as I got up from the computer, I heard the sounds of a large truck backing into my driveway. It was Izzy! (God I love my UPS guy - HE IS THE BEST!) He was delivering my 10 cases of hammers and the 1 box full of Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation awareness information... those folks are s-e-r-i-o-u-s! He wouldn't even take a tip!
Anywho - it's all here... Now, who wants a hammer?

S-t-i-l-l W-a-i-t-i-n-g!
This has to be the longest 3 days ever! my pink hammer boxes still are not here yet... man!
Well there are other things to do. I contacted the PA and surrounding folk about the training I would like to do in York PA. This is a great way for interested folk to get up-close and personal with Tomboy Tools. So far it's a toss up b/n Saturday Sept 23rd and Saturday Nov 11th. If you are in the area, let me know - you can join in on the fun!!!!

Hey, I'm blogging here!
Star Date September 13th, 2006 - I've always wanted to do that. Well folks I am now an official blogger. I thought this would be a great way to chronicle a day in the life of a Tomboy Tools Home Consultant.
Well, today I expected 10 cases of the infamous pink hammers. Well - it's only infamous to a little disease called breast cancer. The $6.00 for the sales of this hammer will go toward breast cancer awareness and finding a cure. Oh wait - here's the official jargon:
September 1, 2006 Denver, CO Tomboy Tools announced today that they will introduce their first special edition pink tool in partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. On September 1, 2006 the women's tool and home improvement educational company will make the Pink for a Purpose hammer available for $14.95, and donate $6.00 for each hammer sold. Tomboy Tools has committed to donating a minimum of $100,000 by August 30, 2007, but the goal is to sell 100,000 pink hammers over the next year, contributing $600,000 to the Komen Foundation.
The mission of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.
So, my personal commitment to this is to sell atleast 3,000 hammers! That's 8 hammers a day for 365 days! ...can't wait until my ship(ment) comes in! ;) NJT
